MAE Living was born during a period of significant personal change. In the years following the loss of my mum, alongside changes in career, home and health, I found myself drawn to the rhythms of the natural world and the quiet reassurance that everything moves in cycles.
The seasons became a reminder that change is inevitable, that periods of growth are often followed by periods of rest, and that no season lasts forever. What began as a personal practice gradually became the foundation for MAE Living.
Modern life often encourages us to live at the same pace all year round. We are expected to maintain the same energy, routines and expectations regardless of what is happening around us.
But throughout the year the natural world moves through periods of growth and rest, activity and reflection, abundance and renewal. Seasonal living is the practice of paying attention to these shifts and allowing them to inform how we live, work and care for ourselves.
MAE Living is not about escaping modern life or following rigid rules. It is about developing a deeper awareness of the season you are in and creating a life that feels more connected, intentional and sustainable as a result.
For many years I thought of the year as four broad seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. It wasn't until I discovered the Wheel of the Year that the rhythms of the natural world began to make more sense.
The Wheel of the Year divides the year into eight seasonal moments, recognising not only the seasons themselves but also the quieter transitions between them. Those in-between times often feel just as significant as the seasons they lead into. What resonated with me most was the idea that change happens gradually.
The MAE Living Seasonal Collection follows these eight seasonal markers, exploring how each one can influence the way we live, reflect and move through the year.

I'm working hard to grow the collection season by season.
Future guides will explore Lughnasadh for late summer, Mabon and Samhain for Autumn, Yule and Imbolc for Winter and Ostara for early spring, creating a complete year of seasonal living through the MAE Living framework.
